ARTISTS OWN STATEMENT:
For many years I was doing other than art, like educate and work in other areas, but it felt wrong even though I tried to concvince my surroundings it was ok. Tried to please others, and be like them, but then I reached a point of change because I have been an artist my whole life. You can never become an artist. It’s the person you are from birth, but you can flourish or hide yourself, and I was putting myself aside for so many years doing like a lot of artistic souls do when trying to fit in. Believed I could be happy taking a reasonable ecucation, be like others, but I’m not and it made me unhappy. Now I’m back and constantly working to get my projects out. You’ll find more info on my websites or by following my updates, because I will release things from time to time, and write about etc… I know I’m a little bit secretive about what I do and work on each moment, but it’s the way I want it, and I make it public when I feel ready…
About my art-photography, paintings and use of poetry in my art:
My main is portraits, black and white variations and ”old fashion” photos. My focus is raw expressions, feelings and simplicity, and I often add that little tiny detail you never notice the first time. I also use symbolic things in a lot of my work. My prosess is similar to when I paint. The image is always created in my head long before I even use the camera. I also write. Mostly poems… In my paintings I use angels and nostalgia. The background for this is: …when I was I little girl, my beloved granddad made collages of angels that he hung up on the wall next to my bed where I slept every time I visited them in the big city which I did often… He wanted me to look at them until I was on my way to dreamland… I love that memory and keep it in my heart forever ♥ When I combine these memories with other themes I work on, and poetry in my art, I get all the layers I want for the painting to tell a story to the viewer… What you as a viewer find of layers depends a lot on your own life-experiences. These layers, emotions and nostalgia is a part of my photographic work to…
”Photography is for me to make on screen what I see, my ideas, my inner, the beauty and the expressive…” (Ellen Espelund, 2008)
All the best always from E ♥
